František Jungvirt’s lighting objects were complemented by sculptures by Sebastian Wojnar

As part of this year’s Designblok, glass artist and designer František Jungvirt presented a collection of new lighting objects at the Volman Villa in Čelákovice. For the first time, they translate the forms of his signature vases into lighting. Sculptures by Sebastian Wojnar are also part of the installation in the villa’s interiors.

The Volman Villa was designed in the late 1930s by architects Jiří Štursa and Karel Janů for the industrialist Josef Volman and his family. This functionalist building with preserved interiors makes a fitting setting for both glass and sculpture.

The meeting of the two artists’ work in one space anticipates their forthcoming collaboration.

The exhibition can be visited as part of the villa’s regular guided tours until the end of October 2026. Tickets must be purchased separately at vilavolman.cz.
